The service I received with The Blind Lady was superb. Right from the very beginning, she was super friendly and certainly treated me as a client, but that wasn’t her priority. Her priority was that I would find something I would be satisfied with. It wasn’t the sale that directed her, it was the customer’s satisfaction. To me, that was a bit different than others, where it seems the sale is driving them and not customer satisfaction. So her primary thing was that I would be satisfied with the product we decided upon. She was helpful when I told her about my ideas about what I wanted done. I have a very large living room picture window, it had been covered with drapery, and I said I didn’t want drapery anymore. I knew that the picture window was too large for wooden blinds since they would be too heavy. It didn’t take her very long to come up with an idea. She suggested a newer product called allure blinds. They give the look of wooden blinds and match the color of my woodwork, which is kind of a caramel-colored oak. They are not heavy, and you can adjust how much light you want in the room. Also, you don’t have to dust them because the dust does not settle on them like it would with wooden blinds. I looked at the product, and she suggested a couple of colors. I said I wanted this one, and she said, “Hey, your idea is better.” We ordered the blinds, and they were installed a couple of weeks later.

I was very satisfied. The price was lower than what someone else suggested for a similar product. What really stood out to me about The Blind Lady was her willingness to work with you, no matter what the outcome is. I think what really sold me was her commitment to my satisfaction over her sale. I’m older, so I’ve been down this road a few times. I don’t like pressure at all. I’m done with that. So I think that’s what really sold me; she didn’t pressure me, and that’s why I went with her.

I’ve worked with The Blind Lady Custom Blinds several times because I’m an architect and a residential home builder. They are top-notch. I recommend them to a lot of my clients, but this happened to be a personal project that they did for me. I really was exemplary, and they did a wonderful job. It was really kind of neat. The job was for my mother-in-law, who’s kind of in hospice and is a huge fan of Key West. We did a room that was decorated in a Key West theme, and we used the “white plantation” wood blinds. It looks phenomenal.

The pricing for the project was very competitive. I’ve worked with other people in the past, but I prefer to work with The Blind Lady due to the quality of their service. Their communication with you on when the product will be there when it’s gonna get done, and that kind of thing, is spot on. I would also say that their guidance in color selection, decorating, and blending things into your style of decor is fantastic.

We had a little bit of trouble initially with one of the windows that the people over at The Blind Lady Custom Blinds, but they did not let that problem linger at all. One of the windows that we had them do was a bay window, and it is a little more difficult due to the $@!#% and how to accurately measure it, and that is what caused some initial hiccups. There was no hassle or trouble, and they just worked very hard to make sure that everything fit properly and that the way it looked was to our satisfaction. Jane herself came out to make sure that everything was perfect and that the measurements were exact, which was really impressive. Not only does Jane carry a large inventory of products to view, but her decorating knowledge helps you to understand the impact your decision will have in that particular room, hallway, etc.

This is the 2nd home we’ve worked with Jane. This home is a down-size, so space is a premium.

From the front door, you could view directly into our kitchen — we could not decide how to treat the space. Jane came up with a plan that draws your eye to the kitchen window, yet goes with the hallway lighting leading up to that point. It also helped me to decide the paint color to pull everything all together.

The compliments we receive and the transformation of that one area is now a “wow.”

We continue to work with Jane as we repaint rooms or replace worn-out window treatments.

As an animal lover, I’m working to eliminate cords for safety reasons. The possibilities are endless. Just from painting a room and working with Jane on window treatments, people think I remodeled!

I had The Blind Lady assist us with corded cellular shades for two bedrooms, cordless cellular blinds for a living room/dining room combination, and a light-filtering shade for a kitchen window.
Her portable sample kit represented loads of colors and styles to choose from. She was able to give me her recommendations as to style and color for the various treatments that I needed, for a total of 6 windows.

The Blind Lady hit it out of the park, and we could not be more pleased with the quality and beauty of the Hunter Douglas blinds and shade that we bought.
She was able to secure a replacement pull for one of the cellular shades when it cracked and broke after about 3 years of use.
